Artist's Description

A single Esteve's Pincushion (Chaenactis stevioides) almost in full bloom. This wildflower is native to the Sonoran Desert and is in the daisy family. The stems can reach a height of 18 inches that are hairy. The flowers around the outside are open-faced and larger than the center flowers which are more tubular.
