A close-up image of a Fairy Duster (Calliandra eriophylla). This particular image reminded me of the 1920's glamour boas and powder puffs. This wildflower is a shrub that grows from 8 to 48 inches in height and is native to the Sonoran Desert. The leaves are oblong and in pairs with a very short length of 1/4 inch.
